The 23-unit luxury development 123 Baxter burst onto the scene in 2005, dubbed "Jetsonville" by one of its many brokers for the building's automated garage and robotic appliances. The building's early greatest hits?free BMWs, "trust fund babies," website disputes and all?can be seen here. Lately, Jetsonville (at Baxter and Hester Streets) has taken some dark turns. The three most expensive units?two penthouses and one duplex "townhouse" with a private entrance?lingered on the market, branded the "Gem Collection" and given their own S&M-inspired website. In May, a razor blade attack and shootout in the building's lobby left one person dead. Since then all three Gems have been trimmed, and one penthouses is in contract. The 2BR, 2,355sqft townhouse took the biggest tumble, reflected in the stats above. A tipster also reports that the broker's commission has been increased to 8%. The market for precious stones appears to be slipping.
