Of all the bizarre-ass stories coming from the city's desperation to fill upcoming budget gaps one of the best is the one about selling the Canarsie Cemetery. Oh, but wait, both Ed Koch and Rudy Giuliani both tried it before and the 165-year-old graveyard sits on a swamp. Why does this matter? It's a freaking cemetery after all, right? Because the possible buyers might be condo developers. Ewh. The city says the buyers will have to operate it as a cemetery. We say, watch out for the basement "Zen Room." [Metro]
