The first phase of the High Line was supposed to open nowish, but the latest is that it will open soonish?check back around spring '09, plz. Back in September we saw the first plantings on the park-to-be, and now Chelsea Now revisits the portion between Gansevoort and 20th Streets for a construction update. The High Line is still in what we'll call the forestation stage. On the top left, the southernmost entry point, and the building that will soon give way to the Whitney Museum. Top right: looking north from 18th Street. Bottom right: the area around Chelsea Market getting prepped for planting. In our heads: daydreams about kicking back in The Chair while André Balazs ziplines us another bottle of rosé. Spring can't come soon enough.
