Sydney/Stuttgart based Laboratory for Visionary Architecture (LAVA) has designed a not-so-cozy looking hotel room dubbed Future Hotel Showcase Room. The polymorphous blobs's outer "skin" functions as an interface between guest services -- control of light, media, and climate, for instance -- all of which are integrated nearly invisibly into the room's walls. The architects have described their project as offering a transition between architecture, technology, and the human body; critics are already invoking Zaha Hadid. Blessing, or curse?
