It looks like the proposal for a buffered bike lane on Eighth Avenue from 14th to 23rd Streets is gaining support from Chelsea locals, despite the "negative impact" feared by some members of the local LGBT community. At a meeting last night, one resident called the outcry a "lavender herring," while another delivered a harsh reality check: "the streets don't have sexual orientation." PS: Don't forget your helmets, everyone. [Chelsea Now]
