It was way back in February 2007 that we first got a glimpse of the design of the Cooper Square Hotel, and to be honest, we didn't really believe our eyes. But now the new face of the Bowery is set to welcome guests on December 11, 2008, or at least that's the earliest one can now make a reservation for on the Coop's refreshed website. We've been told that people are coming around on the controversial 23-story tower. Will customers? The hotel is soft-opening at around the same time as André Balazs's equally hyped Standard New York. Luxury boutique hotel deathmatch! Two will enter, only one will survive...to host our in-laws.
