Someone has finally figured out a way to symbolically link the New Museum with its somewhat less glamorous neighbor a few doors down, the Bowery Mission. Each Sunday over the past five weeks, an artist set up a stand on the sidewalk that he called the "Homeless Museum of Art," modeled after Lucy's advice booth in "Peanuts." There was no art on display, but "curator" Filip Noterdaeme wore a fake fuzzy beard and had plenty of chats with passersby, including some Bowery oldtimers. His take on the project: "I am the strange character opening minds and eyes to these complete separate realities." [NYT]
