Arrested Development: Harlem Park, Yerrrrrr Out!

New, 15 comments

Harlem Park, on life support for months after Major League Baseball backed out of its agreement to occupy the proposed office building (though word that the 21-story building was being cut down to 14 didn't rally the troops either), is officially kaput. The Real Estate quotes Vornado Realty Trust CFO Joseph Macnow at an investor conference today: "We were going to build the first office building in Harlem in 50 years on 125th Street and Park Avenue. We've shut that project down. The economics are not warranted today to do that job." We figured as much when the signs were removed from the site. The building's official website is already down. R.I.P., Harlem's box.
