The Ponz & The Dev

As the Daily Intel notes, one of the big names on the list of those who lost a shit-ton of money in investor Bernard Madoff's massive Ponzi scheme is Fred Wilpon, Mets owner and Sterling American Property chairman. That has one Curbed reader questioning the fate of Sterling's conversion of the Central Village's Devonshire House: "Since Fred Wilpon lost so much money in the Madoff scandal, how will that impact the condo conversion at the Devonshire House (28 East 10th Street)? Do you have any idea how liquid he was? Will he able to keep going with the conversion?" While Wilpon is probably a little less liquid after the K-Rod deal, the Madoff mess is probably a drop in the bucket, no? [Daily Intel; CurbedWire]
