Rat-Squirrel House, Meet Vermont Market & Pharmacy

New, 4 comments

Scaffolding has appeared around the bizarre Vermont Market & Pharmacy Buildings, which is one of the more bizarre landmarks of Carroll Gardens. DOB records say ominous things about "crumbling walls" and "unsafe foundations." The owner "is a bit of a nut" whose father "bought the building from some gun-running pharmacists." He has expressed a desire to do something special with the building, meanwhile, "it just sits there, crammed with antique and modern bric-a-brac—scales and boxes and vials and junk. Barely a bit of the fine old tile floor can be seen." Meantime, it can be friends with the Rat-Squirrel House. Only in Carroll Gardens, friends. [Lost City]
