Pricespotter Big Reveal: Let's Not Forget About LIC

New, 26 comments

PriceSpotter is Curbed's asking price guessing game. We provide you with some details and pictures from an apartment listing, and you take a crack at the price in the comments. Tomorrow we reveal the answer. And hey, no cheating!

Location: 4-74 48th Avenue, Queens
Asking: $690,000

Aaaand ... we're back in Long Island City. How high would you fly for a condo that claimed views of Staten Island, JFK, and La Guardia? One commenter called bullshit on the listing for 4-74 48th Avenue, in Citylights: "Since when is there an ocean right outside the window in Long Island City??" There isn't -- "it's the East River, dumbass" came the swift retort. And another: "Hey dumbass, I understand that it "should" be the river, but last time I checked (since I've spent 31 years living beside it) its not 3 miles wide with whitecaps all headed in the same direction." So on, so forth, furthermore, et cetera, et cetera. Bottom line: The views may or may have not been Photoshopped, Queens may or may not be an ocean, if anyone happens to care -- 'cause few of you actually guessed -- the asking price is $690,000.
