On his New York Social Diary, David Patrick Columbia exits the trenches of high society to report back with these astounding real estate rumors: "Corcoran, the real estate brokerage with more than 800 brokers is closing with its biggest producers moving over to Brown Harris Stevens ... Also closing after years in business is the high end residential brokerage Edward Lee Cave, with his biggest producing brokers also moving over to Brown Harris. Also moving, but not closing is Alice Mason who is basically down-sizing, giving up the million dollars-a-year lease on her big Madison Avenue office space which is coming up for re-negotiation anyway." Braden Keil has more on the Alice Mason story in today's Post, adding "Sources say more small firms and at least one major brokerage company are about to close or sharply downsize their personnel roster."
