Construction Watch: 111 Kent Avenue Comes Into View

New, 13 comments

The building now rising above ground on Kent Avenue at N. 7 Street has flown a bit under the radar because it's been overshadowed by developments like Northside Piers and The Edge. Yet the building, which is 111 Kent, is in a prime location, across the street from East River State Park, which means that no pesky high rises will be going up across the street to block those valuable Manhattan views. The building comes from the drawing board of Michael Muroff. The final product will clock in at seven stories with 57 units. There will be a two-level exterior terrace, angled bay windows for Manhattan views from the N. 7 Street side and an exterior elevator with views. Work has been moderately eventful, with 20 complaints being logged with the Department of Building for things like after hours and weekend work, damage to adjacent buildings and that sort of thing.
