Construction Watch: Superior Ink Not Invisible

Charles Gwathmey may have wanted the old Superior Ink factory along the West Side Highway in the Far West Village to be saved, but as we all know, in the end Gwathmey's fellow starchitect Robert A.M. Stern got his way. So what's going on at the future home of Hillary Swank and all those UrbanDaddies? A lot! The 17-story limestone tower, home to Superior Ink's 68 condos, is now peeking out of the ground. Adding to the fun, the tower will be joined by seven new townhouses on adjacent Bethune Street, creating a whole superiority complex.
