Two weeks ago, a judge "annulled" the controversial deal the city had with 20 private schools to build athletic fields on Randall's Island and to use them exclusively at certain times. So, why is construction at the "Field of Schemes" still going on? Because the city says "the ruling addressed the use of the fields once they are built, not the construction of the fields themselves." Er, both sides are back in court next Wednesday and there's at least a 50-50 chance the issue will come up. [Metro; previously]
