In one of those stories that is sure to inspire much jealousy and anger, an aspiring novelist from Bronxville named Matthew Thomas purchased an Upper East Side studio for $14,000. Yes, fourteen thousand dollars. And the maintenance is $295! He won some obscure housing lottery for people making no money and wound up in one of the few-and-far-between Mitchell Lama co-ops.
