The investigation into Saturday's tragic crane collapse in Turtle Bay has led to an arrest. Records showed that the crane was inspected on March 4th following a complaint registered by 311, but officials now say the city employee, Edward Marquette, was lying about the inspection. He has been charged with falsifying a report. DOB commissioner Patricia Lancaster said even if the crane had been inspected on March 4th, it would not have prevented the accident, because the crane was in such a different position at the time of the break. Still, all of the inspector's work will now be reinspected. [Previous Curbed coverage]
