The Plaza Hotel reopened this weekend following a $400 million renovation, and the Times was there: "Women in black dresses and high heels led reporters from room to room, each with high-thread-count linen and small soaps in dishes. There are flat-screen television sets. There is a detachable wireless gizmo the size of a book that controls the TV, the lights, the heat and other comforts. The bathroom faucets are 24-karat gold." Golden shower joke: narrowly avoided. [NYT]
