Gene Kaufman #2: Williamsburg Triple Play with Hotel

More Gene Kaufman goodness is coming to Williamsburg. On Wednesday, plans were filed for a big Kaufman project that will rise between Bedford and Berry Streets. There will be three Kaufman buildings on a property fronting on both N. 11 and N. 12 Streets. The N. 11 St. side is across the street from our dear old friend 55 Berry and good new friend 125 N. 10. The big news is that one of the buildings will be a hotel. Two of them will be residential. The N. 12 St. side is across the street from basketball courts at McCarren Park. Residents were originally afraid the developers would be going for a hotel that would be 12 stories or more, but apparently they've decided to stick with the current zoning. The Kaufman Hotel, which would front on N. 12 Street, would be seven stories, with an unspecified number of rooms. One of the six-story residential buildings would be 43 units and 30,000 square feet. The other would be seven stories with 15 units and 13,000 square feet. Kiska Development, which is behind several Kaufman projects in Williamsburg is the developer. There are no renderings of the big Kaufman Hotel/Condo triplex, but we're confident they'll come.
