Of all the Williamsburg developments that have been coming out of the ground in the last few years, Edge is one of the biggest, splashiest and most ambitious. So, it goes without saying that it's sales office would also be one of the biggest yet to hit the Burg. Right now, the Edge is a huge construction pit, with concrete and steel just starting to show on Kent Avenue, but the sales staff says that closing on the lower floors are actually anticipated sometime toward the end of 2009. Phase I of the development will involve 575 luxury units and 347 affordable units, which will be in low-rise buildings close to Kent Avenue. Those buildings will also be where more than 100,000 square feet of retail space will be. There are 165 different floor plans in the North and South towers and in the first weeks of sales, contracts have been signed for five percent of the units and the they're out on another five percent. We've gone through the amenities like the communal fire pit and the pool with river and Manhattan views before and shown many renderings of the apartments too. For now, all we'll say is that when one stops into the appointment-only sales office at N. 6 & Kent, they give you a Live Here or Die button. We're told that the marketing effort has only started and await the future pool party.
