A month ago, Con Edison denied that it was preparing an historic 1905 power plant on Kent Avenue in Williamsburg for demolition, saying "we're just doing some spring cleaning" and that the story should not be spun "into exotica." Today, the same spokesperson confirms to amNY that the building is being demolished. Preservationists call the loss of the plant "stunning" or just, you know, the result of very aggressive "spring cleaning." [INSIJS; previously]
