'Spring' Comes to Williamsburg's Luminous Condo Corner

New, 13 comments

Spring, of a sort, has sprung on Monitor Street in the Burg's Luminous Condo Corner, that enclave of new condos whose penultimate landmark is Robert Scarano's compellingly dark Luminous tower. Spring Condominiums is the new name of the condo at 14-16 Monitor Street east of the BQE and it's another work by the King of the Brooklyn Architects. (Williamsburg east of the BQE is a sort of epicenter of Scaranotecture, with dozens of buildings coming from his Dumbo workshop.) It's also the site of the Monitor Street Sandwich, so named for the way Spring and a neighbor surround an old house that's squeezed between two new construction. In any case, Spring is offering up 27 studios and 1BRs, with prices ranging from $469K to more than $800K. Per the sales pitch: "A fresh, new urban condominium, resting on a serene, suburban-like street off the Graham avenue L train stop, springs up this season in Williamsburg."
