Remember the Village Inn, that (probably, now certainly) illegal hostel at 27 East 7th Street? The one covered in stop work orders in the months leading up to its opening? Well, they've been ordered to vacate by the Department of Buildings, which has "determined that conditions in this premises are imminently perilous to life." To repeat: imminently perilous to life! What's that about? Too many Asian kids falling out of the bunkbeds they'd been stacked into? Or maybe those Thursday night pizza parties proved to be a choking hazard.
