CurbedWire: Prospect Park Lakeside Center Revealed Special

New, 12 comments

PROSPECT PARK?Just into the inbox are high-quality renderings of the proposed $70 million Lakeside Center that would be built in Prospect Park to replace its current Wollman Rink. The facility will be designed by architects Tod Williams and Billie Tsien and be a two-level 36,000-square-foot building. The facility was the subject of a public presentation this week and some attention about its rising price tag. It will include two ice-skating rinks and do extensive work to restore the original park landscape torn up when Robert Moses built the current rink. The current renderings are described as "very preliminary designs" there will be a series of public meetings before there's a final version. [CurbedWire Inbox]
