The E. 51st Street crane collapse was a tragedy, but of course, in the "perverse logic of Manhatan real estate" this "symbol of runaway development in New York, may end up paving the way for even more of it." It should come as no surprise that real estate developers are in the process of getting their hands on buildings that were in the path of destruction. Except for the building where Donna Tinnerello. She was looted in the aftermath, but she's moved back. And, she's not budging. [NYT]
