On the Racked: Pike Place in the Park, Unhip Monogram, Flowery Itchome, Much Murakami

New, 15 comments

And now, the latest from Racked, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) Bryant Park: The coffee is flowing today in honor of the launch of Pike Place Roast and Racked is on hand with complete photo gallery coverage of the gratis java and, of course, the Starbucks Pike Place pop up.

2) West Village: Banana Republic's Monogram boutique is now open on Bleecker, but Racked wonders "what, exactly, Banana Republic is thinking with its new Monogram boutique (and line in general)." Also, the clothing is "unhip and geared toward an older clientele than Banana."

3) Boerum Hill: Aoyama Itchome has opened and its "breezy, flower-printed tops and dresses are recognizable to hard-core shoppers" via Anthropolgie and others. The new store is on Atlantic Avenue.

4) Prospect Heights: The major onslaught of Murakami at the Brooklyn Museum opened to the public on Saturday and Racked has cool and massive photo coverage.
