Those lights on the soccer field and track in McCarren Park are out of the testing phase and now turning night into day for real. Let's simply say that the city has gotten its money's worth out of them. As it turns out, they're angled so that some of them shine brightly on Driggs Avenue to the west and Bayard Street (Karl Fischer Row) to the east. In fact, the reflections of the lights off the windows of the Ikon, the Aurora and 20 Bayard are quite impressive. On the bright side for KF Row condo associations: no need to invest in floodlighting or any extra lights for the buildings.
