Your Afternoon Snoot

New, 29 comments

We're suckers for roundups of the most upper-crusty co-ops, which is why Max Abelson's piece in this week's Observer on the stingiest co-op boards is a fun afternoon read. Our favorite is 960 Fifth (right), of which famed regal broker A. Laurence Kaiser IV once said, "If you have less than $100 million, you'd be considered poor." But this anonymous quote is a classic: "You wouldn’t bring in a rap singer into 19 East 72nd Street—just as you wouldn’t take 19 East 72nd into some rap building." Can someone please tell us what a "rap building" is? [NYO]
