Buried in yesterday's coverage of financial woes of the Toll Brothers was an utterly fascinating nugget of gold. In a conference call, Chief Exec Robert Toll said that traffic at the firm's developments is the "`worst we've ever seen." And, then, came this tidbit of local interest: Sales in Brooklyn, the Top Toll said, have "faded." He did not say "are fading" or "might fade," but have "faded." Faded sales in the land of North8, Northside Piers and the future Gowanus project? Uh oh. [Bloomberg]
