Yes, the area around Queens Plaza in Long Island City is changing. Case in point is the Star Tower, which will be LIC's tallest residential condo (at least, for now) when it's done in winter 2009. The 25-story tower is coming from Roe Development Corp., also behind LIC's Fusion, and it boasts "unparalleled views of the Manhattan skyline" and "white-glove service" among other "lavish hotel-quality" amenities. The units range from 617 square feet to 1,213 square feet, and the building will have a lot of things called "Sky." For instance, there will be a SkyDeck, which is a 2,700-square-foot rooftop (LIC's biggest) with a pool (!!!), cabanas and daybed. The SkyLounge will be a 1,000-square-foot club room with kitchen, wet bar and entertainment area. Back downstairs, there's a 7,500-square-foot mezzanine-level Great Lawn for meditative LIC moments. Did we mention the "exquisite indoor waterfall Jacuzzi" that "will provide relaxation with views overlooking the great lawn"? The outdoor grilling station? The inhouse valet parking?
