Architects and engineers are protesting one of the proposals in the New Construction Commandments, which would drop the requirement that the Buildings Department commissioner be a licensed architect or engineer. The measure seeks to deepen the pool and managerial talent of candidates (acting DOB boss Robert LiMandri is neither an architect nor engineer), but the New York State Society of Professional Engineers says they'll sure if the plan gets approved.
