Ikea Red Hook, Two Days Out, 5:00 a.m.

New, 15 comments

Adam Robb, the blogger behind The Life Vicarious, is apparently a very tortured soul. How else to explain his willingness to camp out at the Red Hook Ikea until the neighborhood-defining store opens on Wednesday morning and chronicle the madness live on Racked. Here's his first dispatch after arriving at Ikea at 4:45 this morning. Surprisingly, there are crazier people in this town, because he's #5 in line. Are free EKTORP sofas really that important? (Yes. Oh God yes.) Anyway, some other vital information has already come to light: there are still sofas to be had, and the Ikea shuttle has been revealed. Folks, did you ever think you'd live to see the day when Red Hook was famous for something other than weekend tacos? Stay tuned all week to follow the path of destruction.
