Meier Won't Live in a Meier

New, 3 comments

So why doesn't starchitect Richard Meier, he of the white hair and glasses and West Village fishbowl buildings, live in one of his transparent creations? Because just like you, the old dude hates moving. Meier lives in a 5,000-square-foot apartment in an Upper East Side prewar, and he says, "I have too many books to move." His daughter lives in Meier's Charles Street tower (Pops couldn't spring for Perry Street?), so he does get to experience his work when he visits her. [NYM]
