The Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course atop a "toxic Bronx dump" beside the Whitestone Bridge in Ferry Point Park in the Bronx has not gone well. "After throwing away $15 million" on the "ill-fated scheme," which has only produced a slightly nicer garbage dump, the city is now going to spend $60 million to finish the golf course. There will also be a park and playground after the garbage is reshaped into a golf course. Will the methane vents for the dump be disguised to look like trees? [NYDN]
