The Mermaid Parade this weekend had as many, if not more, political overtones than last year, which is always interesting given that the event is generally more associated with exposed flesh and over-the-top costume than the Department of Buildings. We've already hit the Mermaid Hunger Strike and webcam, but there was also plenty of anti-Thor Equities, anti-high rise and anti-condo sentiment to be found through the course of the day. The DOB at the Mermaid Parade? Who'd could have predicted it?
