Put another notch in Williamsburg's belt. A hotel developed by Two Trees Management is coming to Wythe Avenue in a red hot corner of the neighborhood. A tipster pointed our attention to 80 Wythe Avenue, an old industrial building at N. 11 & Wythe, across the street from the Brooklyn Brewery, noting that it's being converted into a hotel by developer Jed Walentas. A quick check of Department of Buildings records show that paperwork's been filed for...a Walentas Hotel. The five-story building would change a bit, though, as it would double in height from 50 feet to 111 feet (five stories would become eight) and a building next door would come down and join the party. There's no indication of the number of rooms in the new hotel. The applications were all filed yesterday and the property is zoned for manufacturing, so a hotel can built there without any city approval.
