LONG ISLAND CITY?We're going to be calling this one the Sleepy's Dome for obvious reasons. It's billed as New York City's first rooftop ice rink and it'll be City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City. The groundbreaking is this week and it'll be open by October. Per a release it's "a world-class skating facility" that will have an "NHL size ice rink that will be open during the winter season and will be sheltered from inclement weather by a sky-high Yeadon air dome...With the addition of the City Ice Pavilion, the heart of Long Island City is quickly becoming a major recreation center - with a brand new tennis center and full health and fitness club at the YMCA of Long Island City all within a two block radius." Get some grocery stores in there and they're complete. [CurbedWire Inbox]

WEST VILLAGE?We haven't seen many rallies in support of the big St. Vincents/Rudin Management development plan in the West Village, but there will be one tomorrow by what a press release calls a "broad coalition of labor and community leaders to rally in support" of it. The release says "hundreds" are expected. The rally takes place outside the LPC meeting at 40 Washington Square South at noon. [CurbedWire Inbox]
