CurbedWire: Trump Soho's Disappearing Act, Gramercy Demo Done

New, 41 comments

SOHO?Has Donald Trump finally figured out a way to appease neighborhood activists that are still pissed about the controversial Trump Soho? Our photo tipster notes, "I've attached some photos of Trump Soho. They must be using mirrors for windows, or he's found a way to make the building appeal more to the community by making it disappear." Above, the Trump Soho reflects. [CurbedWire Inbox]

GRAMERCY?The Thing That Ate Gramercy, aka the Gramercy Fortress of Solitude, has given us a bizarre collection of renderings over the past year. A Curbed reader doesn't by it, though: "You guys hear anything about what's going on with Kaish & Taub's project at 22nd and 3rd? As far as I can tell (which is pretty far b/c I live close by) demolition work stopped about a week ago. Presumably they're in negotiations / brinkmanship with the holdouts whose buildings the K&T building was - theoretically at least - going to arch over. I don't think anyone ever really thought that K&T was actually planning to go through with that design. Million dollar+ apartments, all of them ringside for kids spilling out of the Black Bear Lodge all night." The K&T website hints that this building may be called 278 Gramercy Park.
