One day after the blockbuster revelation that Versace will design 55 condos?including a massive penthouse?and common areas at MetLife's old beloved landmark on Madison Square Park, we are still a little drunk from the news. Now, here comes the Post to pile it on. First, the Madison Avenue building will apparently be referred to as the Clock Tower. Second, third and fourth:
The 55 units will be an average of about 3,500 square feet with condos running as small as 1,500 square feet and the penthouse being the largest unit at 12,000 square feet, over six floors. Developers have not yet put price tags on units, but they're expected to ask for as much as $3,500 per square foot.
That would put the penthouse at $42 million, but clearly, once the outdoor spaces and penthouse prestige get factored in (six floors!), the price will be higher. Or maybe Africa Israel will surprise us all and not try to smash any records with this monster. Either way, we will spit shine every single one of Lev Leviev's blood diamonds if it gets us up into that penthouse for even five minutes.

· Medusa on Madison: Versace To Design Clocktower Condos [Curbed] UPDATE: WWD reports that the tower's penthouse will be 10,800 square feet, so maybe that 12,000sqft number the Post reported includes outdoor spaces. WWD also reports, "the 2,700-square-foot apartments likely will boast fine marble and mosaic floors and signature Versace friezes." Donatella, please don't Trumpify this building.
