Big Fat Liars

Under 50,000 people showed up to the Bon Jovi concert at Central Park, and yet the Great Lawn looked full. How is that possible, given the Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John and Garth Brooks concerts that have drawn hundreds of thousands? Because those attendance figures were all lies: "You would get in a room with the producer, with a police official, and a person from parks, and someone would say, 'What does it look like to you?' The producer would say, ‘I need it to be higher than the last one.' That’s the kind of science that went into it." [NYT]
