The building called The Metropolitan in Williamsburg certainly isn't the slowest in the neighborhood, but it may have been one of the slowest to have its yellow wall board covered and to lose its scaffolding, perhaps because it took so long to install the "elegant facade of Jerusalem Gold Stone." Never mind that from across the street it looks a little like tan-painted stucco, a very close look shows that it's not. As for the building itself, there are currently eight active listings, all of which got fairly hefty PriceChops around the beginning of the year. It's right up the block from the former Luna Lounge, future Knitting Factory. Construction accident scorekeepers might recall it as the site of Williamsburg Tippy Crane Incident.
