In this week's Observer, Max Abelson points out that a $75,000-per-month rental in The Plaza just popped up on the market. As did an equally priced apartment in the Waldorf Towers. And another one in Soho, too. Yep, three $75k/month rentals are now floating out there just waiting for movie stars in town for film shoots (or Russians looking to burn some U.S. dollars) to snap them up. All three floorplans are represented above for your judgment.
First up is the Waldorf Towers spread, with a 30-foot entry gallery and Waldorf-Astoria amenities. Available furnished or unfurnished! Second is the showstopper in terms of prestige, the Central Park and Fifth Ave.-overlooking "Astor Suite" in The Plaza, purchased in November for $25 million by Esprit's Jürgen Friedrich, who'll be traveling abroad for the next year or two. Last is the duplex penthouse at 25 West Houston Street, lacking the old-school charm of the others but definitely a sizzler in terms of modern Downtown living. Sure, they're all special in their own way, but are they $900k/year in rent special?
