Here is everything you ever wanted to know about the surreal sewage treatment plant in Greenpoint, which is now lit up every night. For instance, the byproducts of all toilets flushed in North Brooklyn and on the East Side below 72nd Street end up here. There's a huge upgrade underway, with architecture from Polshek Partnership, but it won't be done until 2013 at best. Until then, that crappy smell that hangs over Greenpoint will remain.
