Tangled Up in the Politics of BLUE

New, 19 comments

We don't know much about Paul Newell, the Democrat trying to defeat Sheldon Silver for his long-held seat in the State Assembly, but we do know one thing: he can probably count out an endorsement from the Mac guy and nudists. That's because Newell, on a flyer for a fundraiser breakfast, uses an image of the Lower East Side's BLUE (stretched out to achieve a look of maximum menace) and writes that Silver "takes money from taxpayers & gives it to b/millionaire developers to build $2 million per unit condos like this one." Our baby BLUE: now just a political pawn! The amusing thing is that Newell's flyer directs readers to a website called ActBlue. The irony!
