Well, at least everything in Coney Island isn't about zoning fights, property squabbles and whether or not Astroland will finally sleep with the fishes. For some relief from the Coney shit show, there's the Dreamland Roller Rink, finally opened a few weeks ago in the historic Childs Building by boardwalk entrepreneur Diana Carlin. Childs is owned by Taconic Investment, which has escaped much of the Coney redevelopment controversy, despite having huge land holdings and massive development plans. The roller rink is set to run through October by which time everyone will know whether Thor Equities, the other Coney developer, will be turning Astroland into a bus parking lot for the 2009 season.
