The idea of permanently banning cars from Prospect Park may have top-level support. Or not. Mayor Bloomberg says that "It would be great if we could keep cars out of all parks." Ah, but wait. He equivocates by saying that the trouble with closing parks to cars is that the cars end up on other streets "which may or may not be able to handle it." After saying it wouldn't work for Central Park, he says, "I don't know about Prospect Park but it's certainly something we should look at." All is clear. [Sun; previously]
