The old Julep space at 9 Avenue A will soon become "Ella," a '20s Hollywood-inspired cocktail/piano lounge complete with period garb for the staff and décor evoking "Hampshire House, The Carlyle and Hollywood's Lake Arrowhead Springs Hotel." According to an owner, "We want to capture the energy and flair of the time by bringing it back with our music, design and staff." But not their prices. More $12 drinks for the "Lower East Village," as they call the 'hood. [Eater]
