Floorplan Porn: East Village Townhouse Twosome

New, 7 comments

What's better than a single-family Anglo-Italianate townhouse with a private backyard and original details? Two of them! The twins at 123-125 East 10th Street (they share a terrace and the yard) made some headlines earlier this month when it was reported that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick had dropped by for a couple of visits. The properties, built in 1854, are being marketed together as a potential combination for a total price of $17.8 million. Located in the triangle in which the East Village becomes both classy and cranky, 123-125 East 10th Street might not actually be the fanciest megamansion in the 'hood. Recall art dealer David Zwirner's masterpiece a few blocks north? This one does has the celebrity edge, however. In addition to the brush with SJP, some scenes from Nicole Kidman's The Interpreter were shot here. The floorplan above is for but one of the two townhouses, and you can pretty much roast every marshmallow in the tri-state area and still have a spare fireplace or two to warm your footsies. Click through the gallery for the other plan, as well as a look inside and outside the building.
