The year's weirdest and definitely most macabre alternate side parking story comes from Prospect Heights where someone died during the suspension of regulations earlier in the summer and the police kept piling on tickets. "...when the suspension of the rules ended on July 14, the Alfa sat where it was parked, near the corner of Plaza Street West and Lincoln Place. Parking tickets appeared on the windshield...As August began to wane, it was still there. But someone had scrawled some news on one of the faded orange ticket envelopes: 'The man is dead.'" [NYT]
