We've been keeping an eye on the corner of Mott and Worth Streets at the tail end of Chinatown. It's part of a prominent intersection featuring a Citibank, Chatham Square and the start of the Bowery?an ideal location for development. The A & B Lobster King House at 1 Mott Street went under, and the one-story extention was demolished ("before" photo after the jump). Then, whatever else was on the ground floor next to it also closed up shop. Pretty much everything is gone from this building...except good ol' Dr. Toothy. (A quick aside: What does Dumbo have to do with teeth or braces?) The former Lobster King House will soon be home to what Chinatown has been lacking: a pizza place. ?EV Grieve
